TSR sits down (via Zoom) with Dr. Carl Trueman to discuss his latest book, The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self: Cultural Amnesia, Expressive Individualism, and the Road to Sexual Revolution. Come join The Socially Remote!
In this episode, TSR talks with Dr. Carl Trueman about his most recent book, which looks at persons and events over the last 200 or so years that have led to a world where the phrase “I am a woman trapped in a man’s body” makes sense to a growing percentage of its population. Dr. Trueman (“Carl” to friends like us) defines several key terms and concepts in his book and sets the stage for the second half of our discussion, where we will look at some of the key historical players who have helped shaped modern self-identity and talk through how the church can speak to the increasingly secular and sexualized culture in which it finds itself.
Long-form summary of this episode will be available soon on our website, TheSociallyRemote.com.
